Amazing what happens northern pike fishing sometimes

I have a couple different stories to share but two on the same day. I was out Northern Pike fishing on Lake Josephine from shore with some relatives and having pretty good action. I actually caught about a 4lb pike without any hook in it. Due to their tendancy to roll after they hit a bait this northern had actually tangled himself in my line bad enough to get caught. When I pulled him in the hook was actually dangling by his tail and he was wrapped up tight. THe same day I had broken my line -- and my cousin got a bite reeled in and his hook had snagged my line that broke off producing the fish that broke me off. The hook was all tangled in the broken off line again due to their tendancy to roll.

Last story pike fishing in the winter with a smelt on a tip up. All day no fish -- went to reel in for the day on the line I had a perch that had choked on the smelt, no part of the hook in his mouth but he couldn't spit out the bait or trip the tip up.

I'll post more as I remember them
